Audra Jones

At 46 years old, I found myself in a stage of life I never expected to be so eye-opening: perimenopause. Like many women, I’ve spent the last few years learning more about my body than I ever did as a teenager. I’ve been amazed by how deeply our hormones influence everything—from our moods and energy to our confidence, relationships, and overall well-being.

As I’ve learned more, I’ve developed a whole new appreciation for what our bodies are capable of. Instead of seeing my body as something to fight against or criticize, I’ve begun to understand it, respect it, and listen to it in ways I never had before.

That journey inspired joining the Girls Club Global network.

I often find myself wishing I had understood these things earlier—not just the science of puberty and periods, but the connection between our bodies, our hormones, our emotions, and our sense of self. I believe knowledge is power and when girls understand what’s happening in their bodies, they gain ownership. With ownership comes confidence. And with confidence comes the ability to navigate life’s changes with less fear and more trust in themselves.

Through Girls Club of Nyack, and in partnership with Girls Club Global, my goal is to create a welcoming space where tweens and their families can have honest, age-appropriate conversations about growing up, puberty, menstrual health, emotional wellness, and self-confidence. Having completed specialized training in puberty and adolescent wellness education, I am excited to help girls feel informed, prepared, and supported as they enter this important stage of life.

I am also committed to raising awareness about period poverty and ensuring that every young person has access to the products, resources, and education they need to thrive.

Because every girl deserves to understand her body.
